2020 Virtual Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition - Registration

The 2020 Virtual Asia-Pacific 3MT competition will be hosted virtually by UQ and is open to Universities in Australia, New Zealand, South-East and North-East Asia.

Universities from the eligible regions are invited to send their Institution’s 3MT winner's video (or next finalist in line that is available) for consideration in the 2020 Virtual Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition.

Only one competitor per registered University is eligible to compete.  Registered Universities are required to complete their 2020 competition and confirm their representative's details with us by Friday 11 September.

Eligibility:

Active PhD and Professional Doctorate (Research) candidates who have successfully passed their confirmation milestone (including candidates whose thesis is under submission) by the date of their first presentation are eligible to participate in the Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition.  Graduates, Professional Doctorate (coursework), and Masters (both coursework and MPhil) students are not eligible to compete in the Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition.

  • 3MT® is a registered trademark of The University of Queensland. The 3MT® logo and all resources will not be used without the permission of The University of Queensland and any use of the trademark and resources will comply with the competition and brand guidelines.

Participating universities agree to:

  • No registration fee required for the 2020 Virtual Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition.
  • Register online via the 3MT website;
  • Ensure competitors meet the eligibility criteria and adhere to the 3MT rules;
  • Provide UQ with competitors recorded 3MT presentation link, PowerPoint slide and contact details; and
  • Conduct the 3MT® competition as outlined in all materials provided by The University of Queensland.
