Prize structures are determined at the discretion of each participating institution and may vary across different stages of the competition.

Examples of prize structures may include:

School, Department, or Institute Heats

  • Institutions may choose to provide local prizes or recognition to participants and winners.
  • Successful candidates may progress to Faculty- or institution-level finals, depending on the competition structure adopted by the institution.

Faculty or College/Institute Finals

  • Institutions may provide prizes for winners and/or People’s Choice recipients.
  • Winners typically progress to the institutional final.

Wildcard or Additional Qualification Rounds

Some institutions may choose to include wildcard or additional qualification rounds as part of their competition structure. Prize offerings for these rounds are optional and determined locally.
